What is the Andalucía Bike Race?
The Andalucía Bike Race is a mountain bike stage race belonging to the UCI Mountain Bike marathon series category. It consists of one time trial (XCT) and five marathon stages (XCM). As a particularity, the competition is contested in pairs with a maximum of 800 places available (400 pairs).
This competition, Andalucía Bike Race, takes place between the provinces of Jaén and Córdoba and in this 2024 will be held between February 26 and March 2, 2024. To know the route of the Andalucía Bike Race we leave you the breakdown of each stage.
Stages of the Andalucía Bike Race 2024
The Andalucía Bike Race consists of 6 stages:
- Stage 1: 59.46 kilometers and 2,237 meters of elevation gain. Opening day with start and finish in the town of Bedmar, Jaén. It will leave in the direction of the Recreational Area of Cuadros, to reach the Caño del Aguadero and the Fuente del Espino. From there it will head towards Los Gamellones to reach the municipality of Albanchez de Mágina. The Las Viñas trail will return the cyclists to Bedmar.
- Stage 2: 64.79 kilometers and 2,227 meters of elevation gain. Departure from Jaén towards Pegalajar, we will go up to the Mirador de las Siete Pilillas to enjoy several beautiful trails before heading towards Mancha Real. Once there you will return to Pegalajar, where you will find the refreshment and mechanical assistance point, through La Guardia de Jaén.
- Stage 3: 40.25 kilometers and 1,395 meters of elevation gain. Second stage starting from Jaén and with El Neveral as protagonist.
- Stage 4: 57.61 kilometers and 1,482 meters of elevation gain. Adamuz will have a great role in this stage that will end in Villafranca. We will leave in the direction of Fuente Agria to look for Pedro Abad and take the Vereda del Carpio. Adamuz will be reached, where the first refreshment station will be located. Along the Vereda del Carpio, in the direction of Meca, arriving at Sierrezuela. Other important points through which the stage will pass are: El Polvorín, El Bucle or the Cordel de Villanueva to return to Villafranca.
- Stage 5: 66 kilometers and 1,828 meters of elevation gain. The stage will leave in the direction of El Reventón, uphill, along the Guadalmellato canal, to look for the Torre de las Siete Esquinas and pass through the urbanization El Cruce. It will go up an unpublished ascent to Santa María de Trasierra. After the Cortijo El Caño Trassiera, the Vereda de Trassiera, the Mirador de Las Niñas and the Camino de la Dehesilla, passing through the trails in Santo Domingo to end in the Asomadilla.
- Stage 6: 93 kilometers and 821 meters of elevation gain. A time trial to finish the Andalucía Bike Race 2024. A day in the surroundings of Santo Domingo. From the Parque de la Asomadilla we will leave in the direction of the Mirabueno Club, passing through the Arroyo Pedroche to return to Santo Domingo.
